Cuomo, Fannie and Freddie

The Rebuttal, if any, will be even more interesting.

Wow, I knew this guy was self-serving scum, but I did not know the full depth of his scuminess.......that article is very, very enlightening and the fact that it was published by the Village Voice, a very left wing publication, is pretty damning since normally a leftist publication would go out of its way to protect a Democrat.

Despicable.....

If Cuomo really cranked-up all those actions between 1997 and 2001....heh, wait a moment, who was President during those years ? Oh, yeah, that's right, him. Not only did certain Oval Office distractions enable the roots to much of today's mortgage mess to be kindled and this disarray of Fannie and Freddie, but things then starkly culminated with the events on 9-11. Mt. Rushmore ?......not yet.

Here's another bit of information on Cuomo.

http://www.dunwalke.com/sidebars/andrew_cuomo.htm

That website is by a lady who worked directly under Jack Kemp at HUD in 1989-1990. She's no fan of Kemp either. As I have said many times lately, inspite of my right leanings, the corruption is on both sides of the aisle.

She was an independent contractor to HUD during the Cuomo reign. I've read a lot of information on that site over the past few weeks. Much to see from Wall Street, the privatization of Federal Prisons, Iran/Central America Contra, the War on Drugs, etc.

Pretty interesting if you have the time. It's incredibly enlightening and depressing at points, but to my amazement, she's managed to come out of it all with a remaining hope for people. I find it inspiring.

So Really, who is on our side? Not the politicians, nor the Press.

Workbox,

I think the answer to your question is 'your fellow citizens'. When I read this type of information, I quit thinking like my identity is only 'appraiser' for a moment. I'm seeing a need for all of us to understand what exactly is at stake here.

I wish the answer was "your fellow citizens". The term "Citizen" has pretty much been eliminated from the language.

The press, the politicians and those who control them have sucessfully divided us to the point that we may not be able to come back together to fight for our common good.

The biggest problem in the public discourse is that opposing sides on any subject decline to stipulate to commonly understood facts.

Those of us that try our best not to be misled by spin are constanly seeking those little items of fact that both sides agree with. That at least has the potential for being true.

The spinners on any side will only cite information that puts their own agenda in the best light, true or not. This has reached such a critical point that sometimes the two sides don't even seem to be talking about the same issue.

If I were granted one wish, it would be that the citizens of this country would rise up in a loud voice and demand that before any credible debate could begin there must be a joint stipulation to the basic facts that affect the debate. Then let the spin begin.

As it is, citizens are led around by the nose with meaningless slogans, sound bites, and the demonization of opponents.
