Are we supposed to just ignore current market conditions??? A--holes!!!

My general market area is reported to be in one of the highest declines in the country. I do not know how any could deny it in most cases.

I've been marking declining market and over supply for a while now but have continued to get work. Generally I work with direct lenders. Today, I received my first comment, stating that no lender would make a loan with the declining market and over supply boxes checked. This was from a Mortgage Broker. That is when I decided to check this site to see what others are experiencing. I thought the lenders had learned their lesson and wanted to know the truth.

I just recalled, I have been black listed by wamu. It was months ago (it's an old wound) and they were not happy that I would not correct a report. It was a condo and I was told that they do not do 100% financing in a declining market. Hmm, that makes sense to me. I never got another order and I did follow up with them. I was told in no uncertain terms that I had been removed from there list. After about 2 years of working with them, several reports a week, they decided my reports were not up to their standards. Coincidence???

Sally, I hope you have read the NY lawsuit as well as the one I just filed here in California against WaMu and others. It has a thread. It would be helpfull if you would contact my attorney, Steve Danz, 877-525-0700, or sfdanz@aol.com. Send me an IM if you would like to talk.

FYI I just reviewed a Skippy appraisal and he checked INCREASING!

I have gone from a couple of dozen jobs per month to a couple per month.... I realize the market is very slow, but I have had other Appraisers (skippy) tell me they "have all the work they can handle".
Just doesn't seem right.

Inspector,
I too have only been getting a few jobs a month. Lots of hits on my website, very few calls except repeat business. I am not even getting faxes for comp checks anymore, which is very strange. I used to get faxes all the time asking if we can come in "at value". Now I don't even get that. I believe the mortgage brokers are falling in full force now.
