Divorce appraisal strategy???

It protects the appraisal from discovery (being excposed) as attaornewy work product if you work for the attorney and there is some reason he doesn't want the results known. Which nobodt knows till you are done.

Edd, this is the ultimate set-up for attorneys to essentially be the client so that multiple appraisals can be ordered. Sounds like a "comp check" shopping event:rof:

Are you saying that activity could not be discovered? If not, the potential for abuse is astounding.

Discovery directed at the warring parties? "How many appraisals did your attorney's fees include?" Might that work?

Of course, I agree with the advice to avoid being the direct client of a party to a nasty divorce. But, I appeal to the good deed doer in the rest of you to take a chance if it looks safe and there aren't already "shark fins" churning in the water.

Get Paid In advance along by the Attorney/Client Cash/or Law Firm check(if long term client)..........with the Engagement Letter (inspection plus prep time and court date fees). No fee - no inspection.

Tina,
I think I was the source. You just need to go through
my 2000 posts and find it. It was told to moi in a AI
class on litigation. It made sense to me if you have
a very tense litigation.

caveat--I am not a lawyer and I don't give legal advice.

Looks to me like someone's been taking typing lessons from Lee Ann. :rof:

Elliott, once again my friend....thank you! :flowers:

This was what I was looking for.....

I appreciate all input....you guys are an awesome resource....:coolsmiley:

 Note to self: Pay more "dues" to the AF members...

Note to all: I have a sizable retainer in hand and the proposed engagement letter states a range of fee depending on the research required...and also states the report will NOT be released until all fees are paid...Court work is another assignment!
