It protects the appraisal from discovery (being excposed) as attaornewy work product if you work for the attorney and there is some reason he doesn't want the results known. Which nobodt knows till you are done.
Edd, this is the ultimate set-up for attorneys to essentially be the client so that multiple appraisals can be ordered. Sounds like a "comp check" shopping event
Are you saying that activity could not be discovered? If not, the potential for abuse is astounding.
Discovery directed at the warring parties? "How many appraisals did your attorney's fees include?" Might that work?
Of course, I agree with the advice to avoid being the direct client of a party to a nasty divorce. But, I appeal to the good deed doer in the rest of you to take a chance if it looks safe and there aren't already "shark fins" churning in the water.
