Do AMC's permit use of trainees?

My wording was poor in the original posting. The question should have read "do AMC's accept appraisals performed by trainees and signed off by a supervisor?" Thanks

Depends on the AMC... some do some don't.

I don't know whether to smile or what. I think you are being straight and funny at the same time.

I would suspect that AMCs would accept appraisals under guidelines wherein a supervisor would sign too. That's make sense to me.

Got some AMC's clients that will, and some that say NO trainees allowed. Like Lee Ann said, it depends on the client. Just have to read the request when it comes in.

Not to agruee with any previous posters but I was never turned away as long as the supervisor marked "Did Inspect" the property. I even had some tell me that he didn't have to inspect it. Just mark it that is did!! Anyone surprised at that?

My famous appraisal class response......"Maybe"!

I am finding more and more saying "no trainees"...and the days of "Supervisory Appraiser did not Inspect" are long gone. The reason???
They want someone who signs the appraisal to be responsible and to have errors and omissions insurance, something most "trainees" do not.
