Do new double pane windows increase value?

In our 3 season heat AND cooling climate, it still depends!

Most obvious effect is in significantly decreaseds DOM in neighborhoods with fewer replacement windows. Window replacement it is an obvious external sign of updating which probably gets buyers in the door.

And the ding dong buyers still pay more for the top 1/64th of an inch of paint than the costly replacements of better quality windows and HVAC and roof and siding aand.... well you get the idea.

All that said a cheap quality 'paint 'n carpet remodel' job buys the seller more ROI than any other upgrade

In my market, replacement windows have more of an effect on homes in the 70K-100K price range. These are typically first time home buyers, who are not ready to buy a home and then have to make improvements. Even an uneducated home buyer can understand that new windows are better than old windows. They are willing to pay a premium at the time of purchase, effectively rolling the cost of those upgrades into their mortgage.
