Do we feel pain more at night?

Maybe try CBD oil. I know its a derivative of the Devil's Weed but it does help you sleep.

It has issues too in conjunction with the drugs I take. It interactions with blood thinners, increases blood pressure and in combo with blood sugar meds can cause diarrhea.

Yep, I do the Frankenstein walk when I first get up, shoulder hurts, knees hurt, fingers are stiff, I limber up about 10 am.
When I was about 25, my roommate said, "Hey, you ever notice how you can't just hop out of the car anymore?". It's been downhill from there, pretty much, a little worse every day.

Small price to pay for a good night's sleep. :)

Sorry to hear about your pain.
Few years ago, I had a thread about the pain on my lower back.
Since then, the pain has now become a sore. Doesn't hurt as much since I'd been going to the gym more often.

To recap, during the Great Recession, I was so busy and doing so many appraisals that I neglected my health.
I loved my atom laptop carrying around with me doing appraisals. The small screen as well as not sitting ergonomically caused my back to hurt.
Years later, I couldn't lay on my back sleeping without feeling the acute pain. I had to sleep on my side.
I went to the doctor and he said nothing he could do.
Seems like with exercise like over 5 years, the pain can be reversable.

I think your body adapts to pain. I fell and partially tore my rotator cuff by landing on my elbows trying to save the iPad I was carrying. I did not see two steps in an entryway. The tear is supposedly not bad enough for surgery, but it is painful lifting my arm to take comp pictures out the window or lifting anything over shoulder height. I have been doing physical therapy for almost a year and getting painful injections. It still hurts doing the same things, just not as bad and I don't notice it all day. But in the morning, it aches pretty bad until I spend time in the shower soaking it in hot water. I spoke to another person who had the same injury and he said it was two years before he finally healed.

The fall was more embarrassing than anything else. I have transition lenses and my glasses were still in dark mode, but I still should have noticed two steps down. I ached all over for days. I did not even know I hurt my shoulder until a week later and it was the only thing hurting.

Keep doing your shoulder stretching exercises....

I've done that. Also trying to save an Ipad. The worst was the "frozen shoulder" part of it, where your body freezes it because of the pain. I still do the exercises (hanging on the door frame and leaning as far as you can, bend over and rotating your arm in a circle to keep it flexible. It did take at least 2 years before I could reach up or back. Ultrasound and massage helped. Still can't lift a heavy weight with my left arm. This job ain't for sissies.
