On the heels of the smokers poll, it would be interesting to notice the drinking habits of appraisers as well. Thanks for participating and again, this is not a debate. I understand that most programs, like AA, suggest that once one is an alcoholic, they always will be an alcoholic, but they choose to drink or not drink, so the semantics of alcoholism are not necessary for this poll.

Thanks all!!

Wow, I am the only one to answer so far. So, just as I concluded, 100% of appraisers are social drinkers only. I drink less than a 12 pack a year.

I drink occasionally, but rarely do I get drunk because it's hurts too much the next morning. I've become a real lightweight.

Used to....

Could not control it....

Will be 19 years this coming March since my last drink on purpose and 19 years this coming May since my last drink (did not know my college roomie had spiked the Pepsi).

Dont miss it anymore.

How did I quit?

I came home one Friday night and was pure sh*t-faced drunk and got into the house undetected by Mom & Dad (was home on Spring break). The next morning, I woke up with the hangover from the pits of hell. That day, I was supposed to cut my neighbor's grass.

When my dad woke me up, I told him I was feeling really sick. He went and told my neighbor.

About an hour later, my neighbor came over to see me. He said, "Ed, I saw you come in last night and know you were drunk out of your mind. I also know your Dad does not know because he would be mad as the devil at you. I'm going to give you a choice: You can come cut my grass or I will have to let your dad know why you are sick."

Let me tell you--cutting grass with a hangover will make you want to stop.

How about a slight modification to the question. What is the preferred bevarage? If I'm on the golf course I will have a Miller Lite. When the round is done or my little lady and I are out I will opt for a nice single malt Scotch on the rocks. Nothing like a good scotch!! IMNSHO

I only smoke when I drink. (3 packs a day) :rainfro:

Actually, you have never seen me do either. I think I will try a beer sometime, just to see if I like it.

I only have an ocassional beer and sometimes a bourbon on ice. But after doing a google image search using the phrase "drunk" the image that popped up was disturbing enough to make me want to increase my consumption of alcohol.

:eyecrazy:

If it was the one I saw......I swear "I'll never have another drink as long as I live" :o
