I have an Iphone which i use a lot. It has a good email program which can open PDF files. This is valuable as my fax comes to my email. Its shows websites really well and you generally get the full website version, and not the mobile one.
I can easilly pull comps on the fly, its compatible with my MLS system.
Would thoroughly recomend it. Pretty good camera too, its saved my bacon a few times when my digital cam died.
Does it function well on bank websites and appraisalport type sites which require a password? Since our business is going in that direction, I'm researching my next purchase, a laptop is simply too bulky and my current Blackberry doesn't seem to cut it.

I have a Blackberry Pearl and love it. Have to admit I only use it as a phone though, but the voice quality is great and it takes some awesome pictures when needed. It is tiny and fits in my pocket, and since it has an easy numbers lock, I can stick it in my pocket without fear of accidently dialing someone. After 2 years, the battery needs more frequent charging than in the past, and my biggest gripe with the phone is that I drop it at least 3 times a week. Fortunately it has never broken!

There are so many features I don't use, because I am a desk jockey and am not out on the road, but I bought the phone because I love technology and love the size/feel/and sound of the phone. My husband has an iPhone and I hate it. It is impossible to call out on. The Blackberry has a great push to talk feature and I rarely ever use the keypad except to text message.

Currently, I have a BB Curve on tmobile. I like it, it does most everything well. For decent internet viewing, I got Opera for it (free download). I have several email addresses that it handles for me. Phone is good quality. My major beef with it is the calendar set up. I track several calendars, work, church, other organizations that I am involved in. The BB does not have the capability to categorize the calendars like a palm or windows mobile device does. That bugs the fire out of me. On a palm or windows mobile, you can glance at the calendar and just by the color of the indicator tell which calendar you are looking at before you check the event. I can not believe that BB has not done this. One great thing I like about mine is that it is also a wifi phone. When I am in the area of a wifi network, the phone will jump on it and act like a VOIP phone, (like vonage), and not be charged any minutes.

Prior to this, I had a dash. It was a good phone but seemed to have a lot of battery issues. Mine finally just died and would not recharge anymore so I went and got the BB.

I use the palm Treo 700 works good for email and I can actually pull comps if needed. The Mrs just sent back her black berry in favor of the new treo 800 much easier to use a stylus for internet. Also it has a GPS built in. The only bad part is the barrery life is poor but she talks alot (Realtor)

I voted for 'email ready device not a Blackberry'. I use a new Samsung Glyde phone from Verizon. I can surf the web (local MLS, weather radars, even e-trade) and have it setup so that I can check my ISP's SMTP email all from the road. I like the touchscreen, also have good success with the QWERTY keyboard it has as well. It is also an MP3 player but I don't foresee using it as one in the near future. Its camera, IMO, is useless for appraising. Certainly since I already favor a DSLR camera in lieu of the point-and-shoot models that most appraisers use today. The Navigator (GPS, turn-by-turn vocal navigation commands, etc) is cool, but is just a toy to me at this point. I've lived and worked my market long enough to know 99.5% of the area by heart.

Not really interested in using a "phone" that can run my appraisal software and whatnot, the displays are too small, interaction is limited (soft keys and/or a stylus? no thanks). When I decide to get *that* mobile, I'll buy a tablet PC or slim notebook PC and a broadband internet card for it. My favorite feature of my "little phone" is just that, it isn't the size of a scientific calculator, a "feature" that has turned me off of smart phones and Blackberry devices since day one. I guess I am just old fashioned...lol

Try the google calendar. It automatically syncs with your BB. Whatever you put in your calender on your computer or your BB appears on the other.

I used my bank, never tried apprasialport. I can easilly pull comps via the MLS, courthouse retrieval etc.
I have tried a lot of cell phones, including the curve, in my opinion, nothing touches the Iphone.

I open up my laptop at lunch if I am out. If something is really urgent I will get a call from the homeoffice.

just have a regular cell phone that plays "mexican hat dance" when it rings.

I don't need no stinkin blackberry.
my kinda guy.

My carpenter was text messaging three girls at the same time...and I'm paying him $40 an hour??...he got mixed up and told the cutie to stay home, got to the house to find the fat girl waiting on him. Serves him right..... :rof:
