Does anyone use Meta Ray-Ban glasses for inspecting?

personally, idc about appraisal pics as long as they are wide angle (these are) I can free up a hand and can record if needed.
If not appraisal pics....
What type of pics and videos require hands free recording....
You filthy MAGA man....

Pulled the trigger on the Meta 2's I'll let y'all know how it works. Should have some good examples of pics and vids from inspecting I'll share too. Costco has a 3 month return window which should give me plenty of time to give it a good run.

I'm certainly not hanging the big azz camera around my neck but if you do and like it, cool. I like making POV cooking vids etc as well and the Chinese junk I've tried are garbage.

Refurbished META 1's were on sale for $179 but sold out fast. I'm not spending $450 on the 2's just for extended battery and 2k video the 1's are fine.
Because I do accurate interior floor plans with Chief Architect, picking up all details, in large and unique homes, I find that when I get back to the office, my plan hits a problem, and I don't have a picture to reference, and I also don't quite remember some detail of what I saw. So, as a result, I will often first go through a house with a GoPro (quickly) and video everything 360" room to room - as backup for my memory. Then I go through and take photos. If I have a family inside when doing this, i.e., people occupying rooms, then I will do both at the same time, room by room. That works pretty well. Of course, you can't include a video in your report, and the individual frame resolution and quality aren't good. So, I need both. The camera is strapped around my neck, and I have one of those photographers' vests with all the pockets - a good place to put the GoPro. I could use an iPhone. But that is my backup!

A Canon R6 by itself is not that much of a problem. But once you put a flash like the Godox V1c on it, plus a 15mm-35mm Canon Zoom, it can be bulky and a bit heavy for some. But I still lift weights at 78 (I used to be a heavyweight lifter 25-30 years ago). And, I really hate to admit it, but I am getting old, slowly but surely and too fast for my comfort. And can not believe I jog so slowly. I used to run almost daily, running 10 miles at a 6-minute pace. I am a lot slower now. I still run. But now I have to ask: How much longer? Anyway....

Yes, do appraisals with a photo jacket with big pockets and straps hanging all over, a Canon R6 with flash and lens, a GoPro, a Laser meter, a clipboard and pens, an engineering-accurate tape, .... And not to forget the drone setup for aerials.

Then, I get back to the office and, hopefully, do not have to go back out to the property. ...

I've been considering buying a pair as well. I've had the Bose sunglasses for years and really like them; they're great for blocking out distractions from my wife at the beach. We're heading to Germany in the spring, and I'm interested in the glasses' language-translator feature. Please keep me updated.

As a homeowner, I wouldn't want someone recording everything inside my house.
Just taking set number of photos enough to justify the condition. Anything more seems intrusive especially in bedroom if I forget to put away my body oils.

Some homeowners have ultra clean homes. You wouldn't believe. And if they have children, the children are perfect - clean up after themselves, or maybe possibly they have the money to hire maids to come in and clean up before the appraisers visit. I remember this couple, both Stanford grads in engineering, running their own business, 3 perfect kids, house immaculate. And some, some, are absolutely nuts. I remember this one guy many years ago in Berkeley, he talked a mile a second, - who had books stacked 6 ft high absolutely in every room of the house, except the kitchen, and I guess the bathrooms. I could barely navigate through the rooms. And others with dog poop on the rugs - sometimes workaholics who simply had no time to clean up (One such case in Vacaville I remember well 20 years ago. .... Almost empty rooms, one of those newer subdivision homes, ... 3500 sf or so.)

If it's a refinance, whether they clean up and hide personal items is up to them. We have our job to do. You just tell them in advance: "It will take me 1-2 hours, I will take photos of every room from two different angles, as well as fixtures and appliances, smoke/CO detectors and any material deficiencies that may need repair." The only problem I ever recall having was this ( must have been a meth head) musician in Carmel who went ballistic that I was taking photos of the interior of his property - insisting that none of the other appraisers ever took photos. I had to terminate the inspection and tell him I wouldn't do the appraisal. - I am really not sure what he was disturbed about. Just some rich druggie, I guess. Oh yeah, there was this Indian CEO of a software company who saw me flying a drone over the subject property across the street from him and seemed to think I would be flying over his property and taking pictures and went nuts running off at the mouth about his rights and so on. He didn't know what the heck he was talking about. I didn't react, I listened as best I could until my drone started drifting over the other neighbors house - and then I told him I couldn't listen anymore I had to focus on the drone - and he finally shut up.
