Verne:

I was younger and had more time than money
 (some things change only fractionally over time... )

It was an odd shaped small window in a house with a stucco exterior... barring a custom replacement costing $$$ and besides it worked fine, just wasn't pretty any more. Besides the custom replacement would not permit the nominal air exchange of a late 50s era aluminum frame single pane!!! I consider the minor leakage a benefit in a bath environment anyway B)

So with a little steel wool, a lot of elbow grease, and straight bleach it looked good for a couple years.

Round two: same process and a bright idea: and that candle wax really DID it...

I got it buffed to a glorious shine, and it has lasted well hmmm some 15 years?
(Mom's house you see)

I had done a super bath remodel which looks spiffy to this day, can't have no grungy windows ruin the look!

I'd try to give Martha a run fer her money but... let's not GO there :D
Blue sky, smiling at me, I don't want grey bars, in the view I seee....
daaa daaad da think I got a future in Nashville :rainfro:
