when they have a room with a full bath in the main floor, the intention and useful utility of that room usually is for an occational visiting guest, a maid or an elderly member of the family who doesn't want to go up and down the stairs. No matter who sleeps there, a guest, maid or elderly, it still can be called a bedroom because any member of family can sleep there too.
Now, regarding the lack of closet and call it a den or office. If you call a room with a full bath a den, you would take the useful utility of the full bathroom because those who are using the den or the office don't need to take shower, in this case they usually need a .5 baht. people usually don't take shower when they are working in the office and the den usually is used as a family room or a room for kids.
