"In the summer heat, I wear a skirt and sandals. Never had a complaint. Guys, would you complain if a blonde in a skirt showed up at your door? LOL"

I give up. I'm going to start wearing a basic black dress - strapless - with CFM heels.

Is it acceptable to dress in a T, shorts, and sandals while performing an inspection? Consider the borrower who is often in pajamas or work out cloths when showing their home.

I was at my parents house when the appraiser came once. He dressed exactly like that. I urged my parents not to say anything even though they were literally upset. They figured that this man was deciding the value of their home, and should have looked somewhere near the part of a professional instead of dirty hippy from California.

Personally it's always business slacks and collared polo shirt, with a nice pair of Bostonians. In winter the shoes are replaced with black timberlands, lowcut, with a nice sweater or polo shirt with cashmere overcoat. But, I'm just stylish after all.

Peter, I'm so disappointed in you. :nono: You forgot the strand of pearls. You always need pearls to complete the look of the little black dress.

" Hello maam, I'm the appraiser and I'll be taking some pictures of the house and then you can take some pictures of me !"

Good idea with the gloves I keep sani wipes in the car and clean my hands right away, have to get the shoe covers tho.

Some appraisers may think it's strange, but there are a lot of things you don't want to touch while appraising!

It also helps with the measuring tape, doesn't muck up your hands

I find that pearls draw attention away from my cleavage - I prefer an emerald pendant, strategically placed:blush:

I appraise some pretty disgusting places from time to time, but unless the owner was not there I would not wear gloves inside. Like others have mentioned, I keep sanitizer in the car and if need be I can go to a store or gas station and wash up. It isn't about being weird, but where I live, enough people would consider that rude that it wouldn't be appropriate. Once inside I can keep my hands to myself as much as possible and wash them when I get out.

And just how much man-cleavage do you have??? Ugh, never mind, I don't really want to know! Better to leave that particular question unanswered.
