Drinking black coffee good. But starbucks, maybe not.

I question the causality here. I would argue that it's NOT drinking black coffee that leads to better benefits, but (IMHO) more likely the fact that people who prefer no sugar or cream in their coffee PROBABLY prefer less sugary drinks and foods in general.

Thoughts?
Tend to agree. Similar to the thought that the more ice cream trucks on the road correlates directly to the number of children drowning in swimming pools.

I tend to get more done and burn more calories when jacked up.

I've always ground my own coffee from whole bean and used bottled/filtered water. In the summer/fall, I prefer a true cold brew; steeping fresh ground in a glass container for 24 hours.

Milk is loaded with sugar/carbs, and the higher fat you go with, the less sugar. Half and half has a touch of sugar while heavy/whipping cream has a trace. A dollop of either smooths out the cold or hot brew.

I only drink my coffee black, there is no other way. Just spent a few days vacationing with some LDS friends I’ve known for years, like all good Mormons, they don’t drink coffee, but they don’t get offended when I do. I also try to be respectful by not having a cold one around them, they don’t mind, but they had a new friend with them so I obtained from that vice. Funny thing, they never lecture me about caffeine or alcohol, we’ve even gone bar hopping and they just order caffeine free soft drinks. One thing I do notice, as a group they tend to be healthy, polite and very kind. Most of them live to ripe old ages too. They even tolerate my Brigham Young jokes, not the school, but the man.

usually don't eat the pie being passed around
Cake and pastries? Not much interest... Cream or berry pies...cannot resist them so I just never cook 'em. Blueberry Cheeze cake? Prolly will be the death of me...but I will die happy.

I always drink my coffee just Black. I get the sugar from the pancakes and pastries.
Speaking of sugar, I will be seeing a doctor to see if I'm diabetic.

that's an odd thing about dairy. I assumed cheese would be high carb when i was first diagnosed with diabetes 20 years ago. In fact, just the opposite. Low carb milk is low lactose milk. If you are lactose intolerant which was the norm 10,000 years ago, then lower lactose milks are best and stay away from rice milk and other non-dairy milks. Very high is sugar.

Most coffee is being imported from Brazil. They have like a 40% tariff on them on coffee. It does have kick to it. Even decaffeinated coffee and tea has a little caffeine

I have talked to manufacturers about it. Some things Zoe knows. LOL.

I am trying to play Fern. LOL

You know starbucks is getting hurt on that tariff on Brazil.

They probably import most of their coffee from Brazil or Columbia.

I sincerely wish you the best with that. If you have serious concerns, I hope you are seeing an endocrinologist rather than a GP. Many GPS do not have the expertise to properly diagnose diabetes - been there, done that, got the t shirt. :)
