They stamp and paint asphalt driveways here so that the look like cobble stone or brick, or like they have brick edgings, but it's just paint and texture stamping the asphalt.

Stamp so it looks like cobbles, check. I guess I've seen options to put dye in the concrete for color.
But paint... It's gonna peel from a concrete driveway in a couple years. Seems to me.

Sherwin Williams makes 'Sher-Crete' which is designed to protect drives, sidewalks, etc. Vuilders use it on new homes here. Also some sealers which protect and seal the stained concrete. A lot of garages have an epoxy sealer in colors.

Offer a sellers concession for the driveway/walkway repair and let the new owner decide what to do.

A standard driveway is about 50 feet long by 20-24' wide. The cost for a new driveway is about $8,000 (tear out the old, put in the new).

To pour a new driveway without tearing out an old one is about $6/SF. So the installation cost of a new driveway, when tearing out the old is already "depreciated" by 25% because of the cost to tear out the old.

In two years the new driveway is going to look similar to every other driveway that doesn't have cracks.

Arguing that a new driveway adds value is ludicrous.

How much is the cost to redo it, $2,000 or $3,000? More?
And about how much is the property value? $100k? $300k? >?
Numbers might help you decide.



Paint the driveway? I've seen garage floors painted or epoxied, but not a driveway.
Maybe it's a FL thing?

$12k is only 2% of $600. It's not a significant number compared to the value.
But if you have to write a check it sounds like more money, methinks.
I like the seller credit for repair idea.
