May not be any code enforcement where it is. Many areas in Tennessee don't have code enforcement. If a licensed contractor did it, they have to follow some kind of code. Usually a licensed contractor would have to pull a permit and have building inspector come inspect after construction. Many areas in Tennessee, they just do what they want. LOL
But licensed contractors do have follow building codes regardless.
