eAppraiseIT Sues Pamela Crowley

If EappraiseIT has a problem with the opinions expressed by appraisers on this forum they should come here and address them directly. Using lawyers and SLAPP suits is going to be perceived as the equivalent of validating all those contrary opinions.

But as long as they're going to choose other venues we might as well address them in other venues, too. Maybe more of the state appraisal boards should be showing an interest in some of these allegations.

We're sending a check in support of Pam's blog.

One of the reasons I chose not to be a moderator...besides I was never asked.

Has anyone talked to Wayne about this? Has he or appraisers.com been named in the suit? Is this a forum issue or as a result of Pam's other endevour...fraudwatch?

If we choose to support Pam in her efforts it should be done personally rather than in the name of appraiser's forum just as a matter of protection for the website and our host.

My understanding is that the suit is based somewhat on what was said about eappraiseIt on here. But, for my part that doesn't really matter any more. Pam got their attention and happily, they reacted in what I believe is a predictable fashion.

Finally the thing is where something can be done about it. We could talk about ad infinitum on here without progress. Progress can be made now.

I am afraid that the only action here is to defend Pam. I don't think that the Judge "if it gets that far" will allow any information to be brought against the plantiff. They will not be on trial here. Only Pam.

Back in the 70's we had an auto repair shop in NY. We were sued by VW of America for having their VW logo in our window. They won the case and were awarded over $1.5 million dollars. They settled the case by having us remove the logo, and never to use it again in our advertising or showing it on the building. Well needless to say.

They might offer that to Pam if they win.

I don't feel that any of this will have any bearing on the company, only on Pam.

So - Pam good luck As for the rest , be careful for what you say on a public forum, You are responsibile for you actions.

This is only my opinion and I am not an attorney.

Would a successful defense by Pam, meaning she had a factual basis for her statements, open the door for a class action countersuit?

Councelors?

No need to duck, I've taken care of the "problem". Anyone else want to HIJACK this thread? I'll lock it! Keep to the topic and I'll stay nice. This issue is too important to allow distractions and hijacks.

I agree with Chris. Let's keep this thread out of the gutter. I'm no prude, but I'd prefer to see all references to heroically proportioned genitalia deleted from this thread. Let's not do anything to make Pam look bad by her assocation with this forum.

Momma always said.

Character is who you are when you think nobody is watching.

Note she didn't say when nobody is watching, she said when you THINK nobody is watching.

Why the subtle distinction? Because somebody is ALWAYS watching.

NOw for what my Daddy said.

Make your words sweet, son, you might have to eat 'em.

Please, for this post and from now on, be aware that your audience here is huge, way beyond the regular cast of characters.

Hey Wayne, how many new members just today? I bet it will be above the norm....

I would suggest setting up a paypal account to receive funds instantly. You might get more help that way.

Paypal is a Good Idea.

Pam, you noted the time, date, and courtroom in your initial post. Is this an open hearing, or is it in closed chambers? I would like to be there, if it is open. You can PM me if you are withholding public comment... Thanks!
