I recently was asked about a retro appraisal in Nassau, dating back to the early 1980's. What would be the best source for information dating back to that time. Thanks for any help.:icon_question:

Larry, do a search of the NY forum. I'm sure this has been discussed before, someone had a retro in Nassau Co., going back to the 70's or 80's. Maybe it was Ken R. or Kevin Mc.

I have most of the MLS comp books dating back to the mid 1970's in my basement - feel free to come over (by appt) and go thru them & copy/write down whatever you need.

Unfortunately I don't have a copier & they won't fit through my sheet fed scanner.

I also don't lend them out - been burnt too many times - sorry.

I've use the Micro setting my my camera as a scanner for old courthouse documents that can't be copied.

retrospective appraisal

You can go to MLS/LIBOR in West Babylon. The have the MLS books dating back to, I believe, 1975. I did a retrospective appraisal in Merrick from 1979 about a year ago and it worked out well. Call first 631 661-4800.

Thanks

I just wanted to say thank you all for your fast replies, and great input. Thanks especially to Ken. Your offer to come over is very generous, and i might take you up on that, but i think this was another one of those clients that disappear when you tell them what the price is going to be. Thanks To All:beer:

Not to be ignorant....but why a retro for so far back?

It is for tax purposes. The father died in the early 80's and they need a valuation at that time to lessen the tax implications.
