<Friday's rant mode on>
I have noticed that for about the last year any email address that contains mostly numbers is caught by my spam filter and labeled as spam.
So I would advise anyone not to use numbers in your business email address. If you do use numbers and your email doesn't get answered (by me or more importantly your clients) then some spam filter probably filtered it out.
Reason: Look at most spam you receive. It will have a fake "from" email address such as": john32983@yahoo.com or erica98282@hotmail.com.
Which brings up another sore spot with me: Most spam fake emails use hotmail.com or yahoo.com. So why would any legitimate business use these as email addresses and expect anyone to take them seriously? Yet many do. I don't know about Yahoo, but business use is against Hotmail's terms of service anyway.
My advice for anyone serious about doing business on the Internet:
Get a real email address, don't use numbers in your email address, use spam filters, but check from time to time what they filter out, and don't post your email address on web sites.
With our forum here there is no way someone can obtain your email address unless you post it inside a message, or unless you give it to them via a PM or an email. Anyway you have a choice.
