Don't worry yourself too much about the old boy network, it is used against new boys as well as girls. I ran into a few of them on my marketing outing today. You could tell by their mannerisms that they weren't about to give the "new" appraiser a chance. (These guys can be found on the 20th story in the heart of your downtown financial districts, lurking in the back office past the secretaries).
All we can do is keep on weeding out the bad clients (instead of them losing us). Good ones are very hard to find, but they can only be found by trial and error.
LeeAnn,
I've had that 'spiffed' approach backfire on me. Now my rule is to make sure I don't walk into the office looking better than the ladies who work there. Women can be catty, you know.
I was actualy commenting on Andrea's spiffed ATTITUDE more than the fact that she 'cleaned up a little extra'.
At my age as long as they assume I am not my'real' age I do OK!!! Thanks to good jeans - er Genes I appear somewhat younger than I really am.
I am just enough overweight that soemone with a personal trainer doesn't feel threatened by my physical fitness level, nor so much into the excess poundage that they think I am gross... I refuse to dye my hair, and wear it long so they get a gander at plenty of silver... Not too many pancaked LO's perceive me as a threat!
Avitars are fun and a good way to "show" your mood or personality...Mine changes a bit, some forumainians like took keep the same "look".....it's up to you.
If you find one youlike and can't figure it out (how to post and upload it) e-mail me....I'd be GLA to help.
(check out Lee Ann's... I think she means it!... )
I know what you mean. Caught that attitude from assistant VP and all women LO's when I worked with my supervisory. They LOVE him (puke) and get all gigglefied when he walks in. Please!
Needless to say, I have done ZERO work for them, (they keep blackballing me on the approved list at the corporate level because to add me, one must come off) and the ladies wouldn't have that, but hopefully thats all about to change. Seems the branch manager (HE gender - who really likes me) just became the main manager at the main bank. The more I live and keep my mouth shut in the right places, the more I learn. I'ts really pretty amusing when you step outside of the box.
