yuisbell,

Thanks for the info regarding hours logged. I have 18 months in so far & am current with my log. "A" type personality here. :new_smile-l: Now that I'm getting close to submitting for certification I am curious to the process. Please keep us informed how it goes.

Good Luck & Best Wishes

Many of the responses have provided good advice. Here are a few clarifications:

Applicants must use the DBPR form to report their experience. Use either the PDF or the EXCEL forms available at these links:

http://www4.myflorida.com/dbpr/re/forms/re-2300.pdf
http://www4.myflorida.com/dbpr/re/forms/RE-2300.xls

Separate Experience Logs must be maintained by both the Supervisor and the Trainee. This requirement was added to assist Trainees in encouraging their Supervisors to maintain and sign the log. Some Supervisory Appraisers have already been disciplined for failure to comply with this requirement.

Signatures of both the Trainee and the Supervisor are required as indicated on each page of the log. The log should be maintained contemporaneously with the appraisal assignments.

The FREAB has a long standing policy requiring the experience of all applicants to be audited. The applicant must be able to produce the reports and workfiles for all assignments and experience claimed on the log. Please be aware that these records must be maintained for FIVE YEARS from the date the application was submitted. This is more stringent than that of the Record Keeping section of the Ethics Rule in the USPAP.

Proposed is an amendment to eliminate the requirement to include Client Name and Address in the log. This amendment, however, is NOT FINAL. As of today, Client Name and Address must be included in the log.

The copy of FREAB Rule 61J1-4.010 has a scrivener's error with respect to the Supervisor's Signature. Please be aware the Supervisor's Signature IS REQUIRED on the log.

Also be aware of the record retention requirements in Chapter 475, Part II. Each licensee has the responsibility to maintain records. The responsibility outlined in 475.629 is more specific and more stringent that of the Record Keeping section of the Ethics Rule in the USPAP.

Read the last FREAB newsletter for more detail.

Rules of the FREAB are available at this link:

https://www.flrules.org/gateway/Division.asp?DivID=282

Chapter 475, Part II is available here:

The latest FREAB Newsletter is here:

All the best in your endeavors.

Thanks for clarifying Frank. I have more reading to do. (my bold)

Timely post. As soon as I write one report next month I'm ready to submit
my application, and while I have all the information, none of my forms are signed by my previous supervisor, and I'm not looking forward to having to deal with waiting on him to sign off anything. My own fault:new_all_coholic:
