External Storage Devices - Usb

I make a CD backup every 6 months/year and take it to a safe depoit box as a littlle "fire Insurance"

It is my understanding however, that files stored on CD are read only, and can be printed, but not altered. This is good for record keeping but seems less desireable for "backup". If I would have a catostrophy and had to use CD's would I be able to extract any information from the reports (I use Alamode) if I, say, redid a subject or had a new property in the same condo complex?

If so, is there an easy way I could change that, given my computer ability is only slightly better than my spelling.

Not true. After you copy the file from CD to your HD right click the file, go to Properties, and uncheck the read only box...

Cool B)

Seems to simple, but I have found the answer to computer problems is usually that simple after spending ten hours trying to find out how to fix somethin.
