USPAP could say the client is the person that pays for the appraisal... :rof:

That is not what I said. I said they fear bad publicity, which these lawsuits will expose them to , as well as AI putting the intel out to anyone who asks it, which was not the case before.
That would assume that the lawsuits even get off the ground and that if successful, would it even make it anyone's radar except for appraisers

I already answered that. USPAP doesn't address "who pays"

Besides, it's the GSEs and some of the lenders who don't accept or use appraisals they don't engage, whether directly or indirectly via their agent. It's a user-driven requirement, not a USPAP requirement as such.

So the borrower has to pay for 2 appraisals if they want one? How very “public trust” of the system.
The borrower has to engage their own appraisal for their own usage if they want one

so who is the client...AMC...you know taf next door neighbor and partner :rof:

I like to get 2 for the price of 1. In the world of appraisal, the public gets 1 for the price of 2. Snake oil salesmen everywhere.
