Fannie Mae has announced what they say is a new update of their guides, as of today. I haven't researched it but the link below will take you to a good site for reviewing the update. If you aren't registered it is easy to do and well worth it. No cost.

Took quite a while but I downloaded the appraisal sections.

I wonder... if we had a Fannie Mae Guidelines forum here and posted a section per week for discussion..... good learning experience for all of us that do lender work. I briefly glanced at some sections as I was downloading and there are some very interesting subjects.

Others: Would you like to have something like this???

After I downloaded the April 12, 2002 version of Fannie Mae guidelines, I thought to myself--this is what should be used for a text book for a brand new appraiser! It is Fannie Mae guidelines which are supplemental standards but they have a lot of good practical, day by day application of standard appraisal methods, prodedures and techniques.

Okay class: Read chapter One--Appraiser Qualifications, book reports due by next Friday! Section 103 is my favorite paragraph (aside from factory built housing, naturally).
