signed up for these guys, took a while to get my # ported over from vonage (3 weeks) but now that it's done I love it. Everything goes straight to the ONE email box you specify and thats the ONLY email address you can send faxes from as well, so If you have a large office it might not be a viable option...but for me and my dad it works great! I think were paying about 10$/mo +15$ activation fee and we get 350 in/outgoing faxes/mo...everything arrives in .pdf and you can send with .pdf, jpg, png...whatever you can think of, even word doc's....so incase anyones on the fence, go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Oh and I know theres other options out there I think MyFax lets you receive as many faxes as you want and it's cheaper by a couple $$, but you can't send any faxes.

We have not used a fax machine in years. We use Jfax for all of our needs. Whenever we have something big to fax we just go to kinkos, but that is extremely rare. For single faxes we scan and use jfax to send.

I use MyFax and can send faxes. You send them by email to myfax and they convert and send.

You can keep the old number and port it over to the new service. Too bad that you're not then paying Qwest, ATT, or the other companies 2 to 3 times the price for that phone line. Oh well........................

Aside from simplicity, why would anyone want to get rid of a fax and ;ay a monthly fee for the service? You can get an all-in-one machine, use it as a copy, scanner and a fax and not have to pay a $10 or $15 monthly fee and you can fax and receive as many copies as you like. I know toner/ink costs can be high but with a laser machine the costs are reduced and I would guess less than the monthly fee charged for the internet fax. And you are using the machine for other tasks that you need the equipment for anyway so the fax is somewhat ancilliary.

^^you still have to pay for a dedicated phone line...and that for us through vonage was 15$/mo....besides the main reason we switched is checking your 'faxes' at home...no more having to drive to the office to see if you have any requests.

I don't drive to my office! I walk out of the bedroom to the coffee machine and then, as I'm walking by, I look at the fax..............I see it as an expendure thing, not to mention being on a trip and being able to get my orders in NY, TX, CA or where ever I happen to be. Pick up the cell phone and tell'm I'm out of town and can schedule it on ##/##/## and they'll have the report, barring any unforeseen problems within ## to ## days.

^^me too but my pops lives about 10 miles away and our office is setup at my place...either way out of town/whatever, still nice that you don't have to be where the fax is to know if you've received something.....and I still argue that it's cheaper!! saved us 5$/mo
