Fax2Mail Fax service, I love it so far.

I have used fax2mail for a month now and am very happy with it. I switched from efax after they raised their rates again.. F2M is about $8.95/mo and efax raised thiers to $16/mo for similar service and you have to pay a year up front.. No brainer. I must say though the faxes aren't as sharp, but more than clear enough for me.

I have use email faxing for several years and wouldn't live without it. I go to the beach for long weekends and I can pull up my faxes and make appts for when I get back..

I use Winfax with a dedicted fax line and it works flawlessly. I've looked into these various online options but found them to maybe be only a few bucks cheaper than my $15 per month phone line. I'd rather not lose the control of how my faxes get managed for only a few dollars per month. If their pricing ever comes down then it might be a more viable option.

Incidently, once a fax comes into Winfax then it can easily be converted into a PDF document. So in that respect, it's similar.

Unless I am misunderstating you, I think you missed our point. When you get a fax from one of these online services, it comes in via your email. So even if I am 100 miles away from my office, I can see my faxes. Winfax (i think) is still coming into your office computer via a modem line so it is still stuck on that computer.

I don't have fax2mail to save money, as I have a dedicated line that I forward to a fax2mail number. I really do it for the flexibilty of being able to get faxes when I go to our beachouse for long weekends.

I use AccessLine, which has a deal with
Costco. 800 number for me and its
about $8 per month. I've had a few lost
faxes, but its reliable 99.5% of the time.
I pitched my fax machine and those
$29 cartridges.

I love the fax to email services, provided theyre reliable. I use faxthruemail.com which is GoDaddy's efax service (I already have email hosting with them). I pay $15/mo for about 100 faxes and an 888 # so its not long distance for anyone and I still have that same flexibility as already mentioned here. In my area, a local access phone line after taxes and what not is about $20 at the cheapest (and that was a few years ago). Im not a fan of VOIP yet, as I feel there are still some bugs that need to be worked out/smoothed out. The other thing I like is that no matter where I move to, that # will stay the same because its hosted somewhere else. Im still young and trying to find some place that suites me and that I really enjoy being and I dont feel like having to change all my media and marketing materials with my contact info on it just for a fax # should I end up moving into another area code or whatnot. And I dont know about anyone else, but I never even use that many faxes in a month due to the magical device of email and the internet machine....

My Dell 4 in 1 printer handles this job for me. You can set the printer to forward faxes as a pdf or tiff file through an smtp email server. This worked best for me as I did not want to have to change my existing fax number.

I also get all phone messages in the form of an audio e-mail.

Technology rocks in more areas than AVM's.

I use efax. I'm not sure about porting an existing number to them, but they'll give you a dedicated local number. I pay $15 a month for unlimited incoming faxes that can be distributed to up to 5 email addresses. It works easily as far as faxing (I just shove something in the scanner, and hit print and it goes straight to the efax), and allows you to recieve in any format you'd like. I've had it for over 2 years now and have been very happy with it.
