FED left rates unchanged

Walmart is closing poor performing stores, too. Their Express concept stores were a failure despite making money. They didn't make enough money for the additional expense of having a small store and servicing it with their trucks. Most of the Express stores are now repurposed as Harp's groceries or as an Ace hardware. I know one that is still vacant, and one taken over by Dollar General - the only DG I know that sells gasoline.

Online will only grow. Delivery will only grow. And delivery by drone is likely to also grow in areas where crime isn't a big factor as porch pirates would be on the look out for drones otherwise.
I don't know of any Walmart stores that have closed in Shelby County. Neighborhood or the super walmart stores.

The super ones open at like at 6 am. Some used to be 24 hour before COVID.

Parking is easy and well lit in the dark. . Security is usually good. Not my favorite grocery source.

However, they beat Kroger on some things on price on groceries. They beat Sam's sometimes too on price.

Sam's is hard to beat on gasoline locally. Many other items too.

FED anticipation to lower rates next month and many more has many effects.
I noticed world currencies like Yen are getting stronger. While US lowers rates, other countries have higher rates help their currency.
It ain't good when I'll be going on my next vacation costing me more.:cryingsmiley:

I don't understand how such a big company used slow mail like the internet, but couldn't find it's way on the internet.
Just had my 40 year old kenmore clothes dryer end. And i bought it at sears dent and scratch store.

Walmart has it right on their website. Everything easy, have everything, mail fast and communicate well.

Reported U.S. stocks finish best week of the year so far.

I don't know if that inflation number dropping below 3% spurred the stock market or what else. It is claimed US stocks had best week since Jan 1.

All is predicting FED will cut rate next month by 25 points.
Powell has no choice but to do it or stock market will have a fit.
This anticipation has already affected foreign markets.

Powell has no choice but to do it or stock market will have a fit.
If Powell had half a brain, he wouldn't be letting the Stock market dictate policy to the FED. The Maestro Greenspan certainly didn't nor did Paul Volcker - if so, we'd have had stagflation is the 80s and 90s too.

FED cut rate last week. When that happened that was good for the US market.
Unfortunately, while in Australia, the dollar got weaker. Australia like other countries that didn't cut their rates and that didn't help my currency conversion.

...but when you get back to the US, you might have a few extra appraisal orders due to the rate moving down, to compensate you.

No sense trying. You have no idea what a loss leader is. So can't have sensible discussion. Lay off the Jack
I know what a loss leader is. I have told you how I order at fast food when I have to. They expect you to get the $1.50 (?) item as a loss leader and buy other things too. I majored in Marketing. They don't like it when I order only the sandwich and a cup of water.

On a combo, the main item, side item and drink are included in the combo. If the combo price fell from $10 to $5, their food costs had to drop is the only way they could survive. Their profit margin is too small doing tons of volume.

On some sandwiches, if you have a coupon especially, I can't make the sandwich at home for the price they sell it. Their food cost per item are lower than my food costs per item.

A combo at fast food is not a loss leader Dublin. Or is it Dumblin?
