Ignoring the fact that new leaders brings new regulations is denial. bye bye JT and all singular minded lobbyists.
 
Well I have to give JT credit for taking a lot of abuse on this forum. I don't know what the answer is but change is coming because major lenders in some areas are waiting 4-6 weeks for appraisals. The major money center banks must be pulling their hair out. Personally I would eliminate full appraisals except for complex , rural or commercial and go to limited reports like exterior only or desk-top products and use a range of value instead of a single point of value.

Remember mortgage originations have slowed dramatically in some areas over the past month. And, some of bank's problems are their own. We can't help their helter skelter antics. Like taking half appraiser's fees. Raise price and turn around time will improve.

Also I believe I heard that subcommittee chairman talk about how individual homeowners rely on that appraisal. I would argue that is even more so for lower income homeowners. At least some of His committee members seem to be in agreement with the chairman.

The homebuilder rep praised the VA. That's good.

I agree; Change is coming-"Bigly" change. The likes of Joan aren't spending time and money lobbying because they have nothing better to do.
