Any value reconsiderations that should be addressed by the appraiser should only come at the direction of the DE Underwriter who has the authority to make this determination. An Appraisal management company has the responsibility of assigning the work, however doesn't have the authority to make judgements about the content of the appraisal

So has anyone figured out exactly how to tell if you're talking to an official DEU? Do they have a badge number or speak with a certain authoritative midwest nasal twang? Is there an official list of authorized DEUs?

I believe that there was a thread about this a while ago and on a ROV the lender has to send the new comps to the DUE underwriter and the U/W looks at them to determine if there is any validity to them and if so then the u/w contacts the appraiser for consideration ....
