Sort of a tangent post here....

I'd just like to say that I think it's great that you provided an update....
And that you also continue to engage with the others....

Many, if not most who create a thread, stop communicating whenever they get pushback....

In CA, the agents involved in transaction should have helped the buyer dealt with this sewer issue.
The appraisal is for the lender. Don't know why buyers rely on appraisal reports for "home inspection".
Buyer should hire home inspectors for such property concerns.
That's why almost all purchases I seen here, there is always a home inspection (except waived by buyer). Don't know about other states.

Here's what Carnivore was trying to post

From 'Debbie' in American Graffiti, "Are you for real? Come on. Girls don't pay. Guys pay."

Lender sues the appraiser. HO doesn't sue the appraiser. HO can sue the lender, but lotsa luck. : )

We really need to know the public record on the subject's septic system.

In determining if the property met FHA minimum property requirements? No that is the duty of the lender and appraiser only.

Appraiser's client is the lender. If there's an issue, lender should have an issue with the appraiser.
