I have just received my certified residential appraisers license and am trying to apply for my FHA approval. Everytime I do the application page and insert all of my data according to the way it is printed on the National Resigtry it keeps saying that there is an error with the ID type (certified residential). I am "compliant" with the ASC and "active". So what's the problem. I have phoned HUD and left messages about the problem, I emailed and faxed a copy of my certification page on the National Registry. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this?

Maybe we should form a club! I tried to register online for the FHA roster but I got a message stating that my social security number was a duplicate!! Apparently I was listed on the roster all along because I was a member of the late lamented FHA fee panel.

I was instructed to log onto an HUD website which asked for my password. Since I didn't know the password I asked that it be sent to me. I was then told that a password would not be sent until I updated my license info. Of course I need a password to update my license info.

Your government at work.

Hey Kirk

And I thought I had it bad. All I want to do is get the approval and at this stage of the game you cannot send paper at all. They will only accept applications on their new online site which doesn't work. If it did I wouldn't be having these problems. I just don't get it!!!!!!

Here's a # for the group that processes the appraiser approvals and renewals for HUD's roster: 202-402-2041.

Thanks I have that number and have called many times. The first time the mailbox was full, go figure. The next time I left two messages and have not heard back since. I will just keep on trying.......
