Anyone using the Field data gathering system, I think it is Click Notes.

Also, how about the FHA VC sheets? Do they transfer to the Summary Page?

Our ACI field gathering system is a joke, written by a programmer who never inspected a house(me thinks)

I have been using ClickNotes for about a year now. Positives include excellent transfer to Bradford forms and a really slick comments database that allows the user to extract all common phrases or field entries from the main program (via ActiveSync) to the hand held, thus allowing the user to use common responses while in the field. The ClickNotes program is designed so that it is possible to put a complete report into the handheld, including photos, comp data, lender data, etc., when all the field user really needs is what is visual regarding features, condition, construction issues, etc.. Negatives include a cumbersome sketch program, slow transfer between screens, and the very easy ability to destroy data if you do not "exit" the program completely in between using files. OH, ONE MORE GREAT THING......if you use a Compaq hand held, you can set up the recorder with your appraisal file number.....thus allowing you to automatically jump between data entry and recording on the same property. Doug, I have been waiting on the new tablets for over six months, I have been wanting to do some programming on them. I believe the tablets may be perfect for realtors and appraisers.

There ar two sizes, a smaller one and the one I am most interested in is about the size of a letter sized paper. 9 x 11 inches. There are different manufactuors and different models.

I saw one demoed by Acer that was like a notebook, except the screen could swivel around and lay flat on top of the keyboard.

I prefer the Viewsonic model, the same size, and it weighs 3.4 lbs. It can viewed in the portrait or landscape mode. It has an adapter for a keyboard but it is not needed. It has handwriting recognition so you can walk through the house making and saving notes in your file, it has a built in camera to take photos, how good they will be I don't know yet. It had a built in mike and speakers, and voice recognition, so in theory at least you can walk through the house and tell your computer what to enter and where. That would speed my inspection up by 50%. If Toolbox and Apex will intergrate with it, I can do my sketch by saying front measuement 44 feet 6 inches east, 25 feet south, etc. That means with a disto and this I wouldn't have to touch the computer. But there is more, wireless connection, etc.
