Doing a manufactured home appraisal and forgot to write down the dang make and model of the place while I was there... promised client that this appraisal would be out this afternoon. Called assessor and got what appeared to be the make and model, but I am not so sure... the girl at the assessor said (verbatim) "2001 General Augustine". I asked her if the manufacturer was General and the model was Augustine but she did not know. I need to know if this is the complete make and model and if it is indeed an "Augustine" model by General.

If it helps, serial # is GMHGA6230001189A/B

I tried searching for a manufactured housing database but could not Google anything... Any help is MUCH appreciated...

Hi Brandon,

Per my NADA:

Manufacturer: GENERAL MFG HMS INC

Model trade name: AUGUSTINE

(There is also an Augustine II)

Hope this helps. If you need more, let me know quickly.

General Manufac. Homes is based out of Waycross.

GENERAL MANUFACTURED HOUSING, INC.
2255 INDUSTRIAL BLVD. PO BOX 1449
WAYCROSS, GA 31501
(912)285-5068
FAX 285-1397

Maybe they can answer your question.

That's a pretty low end MH.

If you're trying to do a fannie or freddie compliant appraisal, you're going to need a lot more data than you have. You also need the Tag #'s as well as the info from the data label, as well as information on the foundation system.

Based on your statement that you were trying to get info from a google search, it doesn't appear that you have a MH cost source manual, which you MUST have in order to produce a compliant report.

I could be wrong though.

In addition to the other information you need about the Mgf. If you are in Wisconsin you need to check with the DMV to be sure it has been untitled as a Mgf home and is now part of the land. There have been case here when the the title has never been transfered to the Deed. The property put on the market, sold and the new owners showing up to find thier nice Mgf home they just bought being moved by the titled owners or the lender that had the lein against the Mgf home.

I like NADA system over M/S system for dealing with Mgf homes.

Actually it's not a FNMA compliant appraisal.. not affixed to a permanent foundation. I also have the tag #s and serial.. just forgot to write down the make and model. Thanks for the help!
