Fireplace included in total gross area?

My fireplaces have same exterior finished as the exterior house.
Thus I can make case to include in GLA.

I am sure there is an exception but......If you can't step in it it's not GLA.
 
I do it with justification. By including the fireplaces in my sketch, my gross area looks much better than without them.

And with this justification I vote Fernando "skippy of the year"
