Has anyone seen THIS SHOW yet?
Flip This House is an exciting new series that focus's on Trademark Properties, a small underdog real estate company in South Carolina that risks it all to chase the American dream of getting rich from real estate. We follow the adventures of Richard Davis and the Trademark team as they troll middle class areas to buy the most rundown, "worst" homes that are the bane of the neighborhood and then transform these eyesores into profit-making beauty.
They actually show itemized costs vs. increased value while the homes are being renovated. Examples are: Wood Deck Cost: $3,000, Increase in Value: $10,000; New Interior Paint Cost: $4,000, Increase in Value, $15,000; New Floor Coverings Cost: $5,000, Increase in Value: $20,000. (These aren't the actual figures from the show, but are just as ludicrous). Hmmm, I may have to reevaluate my market extracted adjustments... <_<

hmmm..neat. If I watch it long enough, I'll finally be able to have "the list".

Actually, its a good show, been on for like 6 months or so I think. I have watched several. They guy knows what he is doing.

Seen it, and I'm glad he's over in South Carolina. Just so long as he stays out of my turf. :gunfire: What I can't figure, is why in the world he'd want to be on TV blabbing about his methods and secrets.
The funniest part, to me anyway, is he drives around in his nice new Mursaydeez. Most people in this biz I know drive a truck... it comes in handy when you need to haul a sink, stove, or a few sticks of wood.

The first episode I saw was "We Don't Need No Stinkin' Permits". Kind of set the tone for me (I was a GC in another life)... although it IS entertaining...

Clarifications to Previous Post:

On a past post, the appraiser stated that the show was "good". This is defined as entertaining to watch while killing otherwise valuable time. Good in no way refers to the quality of workmanship or materials used on said show. The appraiser was unable to perform any type of on-site observations and assumes since the homes look nice, the work was done properly.

ON a past post, the appraiser noted that the "guy knows what he is doing". This by no means implies that the owner of the business portrayed on the show is a qualified builder or contractor. The "knows what he is doing" statement refers solely to the individuals propensity to earn a substantial about of money from buying, renovating and selling houses in what appears to be a very quick time frame.

The appraiser assumes no responsibility for the actual quality of the show or any of the characters portrayed in the show.

I am trying to find out how new appliances that cost $7,500 increase the value of a house by $15,000.

PS:

If anyone needs new applinaces I will get you anything you like and deliver !!!!

I also noticed that he did not mention any "sales costs" when selling his property. He only listed POTENTIAL PROFIT.
