Flipping Real Estate

Slow/No growth policies are a large part of what drives high housing prices in many areas of CA had the amount of developable land has been artificially limited far below what is needed to avoid a housing shortage. I am originally from a county right outside of DC that also is very unaffordable in part due to low/no growth policies put into place a couple of decades ago. What always amazex me is that most of the time, these low/no growth policies are put into to place by people on the left who also are the ones that complain the loudest about a lack of housing affordability in the same areas.

Makes the community look nice though. Vice grip on planning and density doesn't help affordability for sure.

Yes, controls on development preserve and enhance a pleasant place to live.

I hope it's different other places, but in my small berg, the planners seem to have been schooled to try to make every town look like some sort of cross breeding of Carmel by the Sea with Oak Park, Illinois.

Reading a few pages of that history is pretty crazy when you try not to use 20/20. QUOTE]

Very interesting to be able to read other appraisers comments back in 03/2006 about the potential of a "bubble"...

Santa Barbara. A bitchin' place to visit fer sure, but you probably can't afford to live there.

What does that lowest end $485k get? A 350 SF condo? What is the size of your homeless population? Also, where is your skid row?
Should I say thanks for making LA look affordable? And our homeless population huge?

Just funning with you, B. We should do lunch sometime. :peace:
