Florida Appraisers - Call to Action

The Florida Appraisal Board will have their meeting. The education and comradarie are superb! We need to be there, in force. Besides, I really enjoy meeting the people from this forum face to face.

We have an excellent Board. We need to help them do their job. The State has cut many of the support staff positions. We can help get some back. Be there... help yourself... help your profession. Together, we can make a difference.

Thanks for your continued efforts. You have put your time, money and effort where your mouth is. Some appraisers are beginning to wake up and understand that any potential improvements for the appraisal business MUST begin at the state boards. Like it or not, the state boards are the bodies that can make things happen....good and bad.

If honest appraisers want to improve this profession they can either make sure the sate boards are hearing our concerns and doing something about them...or just keep complaining and moaning about how corrupt everything is.

If the state boards hear little or nothing from appraisers, see no appraisers attending meetings and receive no input from us in the trenches.....they will assume that all is well.

Sure wish you were in North Carolina......we need a few hundred activists like you!

I'm ready and willing to help. As a relatively new appraiser (three years-about to test for certification), I'm not sure what I can do. I hope to begin attending board meetings as often as I can. I've written a few letters to my state representatives. Any suggestions on how I can help our cause would be appreciated.

Just attend the meetings!!! The more we get together and attend, the better off we all will be.

Next one is Tuesday, April 2nd and starts at 8:30am.

We stay at the Holiday Inn, Orlando Downtown. 407-843-8700

I'm finding that getting there by 5 or 6 pm Monday night before the meeting is probably better than trying to get together Tuesday night after the meeting. I can get us room discounts if I can get enough to commit early enough!

Thanks for offering. I'll come up with more we can do. Just plan on attending the meetings for now.
