Well I passed the FL State Certification Exam today. First try.. ehem...
:new_all_coholic:woohoo
But then found out that I had one more exam to take.:fiddle:m2:

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on exactly what to study for the Florida Supplemental Exam. I hear it covers the laws, rules and regulations particular to FL and USPAP?. I understand the exam is only 40 questions and I was told from a friend that it was much easier than passing the FL State Certified Exam. But I don't want to take any chances.

I looked for exam crams & online courses, but only found expensive courses covering the CE & FL Supplemental. I guess I'm looking for some advice on what to study, I have some Florida Law & 15 Hr USPAP courses printed to PDF, that is what I figured I would use if all else fails. Has anyone taken the exam recently and if so do you have any tips? Any info would be much appreciated. I'm about out of money for online courses and don't wish to purchase something that mainly covers a test I already passed.

where in Florida are you located? How much experience do you have?

Thanks Howard! I found a study guide and along with that I am going to read the entire section you advised and study USPAP. One problem. When you study USPAP for four hours straight are your eyeballs suppose to roll back into your head and cause seisures?:new_Eyecrazy:

Eric,

Please post the source of your study guide and if you found it helpful. In regards to the need for endurance to study USPAP for hours on end, that is the objective. The military has boot camp, doctors have residency and internship, lawyers have the bar exam. Appraisers have USPAP. If you can really grasp the concepts and demonstrate a mastery of the material, you have earned the right the become an appraiser.

Good luck on your test.

Eric - grid out standards 1-10. You'll find that in some cases there is only a difference of a few words such as identify and report etc. It makes it much easier to understand. Not all of them work that way, but the language is often repeated.

Any word on that study guide? Thanks.

The study guide was great! I got it from the Steve Williamson school. I studied it and went over the basics in USPAP and passed on the first go around!

I'm certified now! The state gave me my number on 9-4-09! Just found out a few minutes ago! I'm happy! Can you tell by my exclamation points!
