General and/or UAD question about driveway parking

It asked for driveway parking for the very reason that photo shows. Sometimes people fill up the garage and have to park cars on the driveway. Sometimes they have visitors. Some people that actually have friends have these things called "Parties" and driveway parking would be very important.

Covered parking and driveway parking are two different entities.

Short answer - 2 Garage / 2 driveway

The question I have is when it is a long circular driveway that can fit 50 cars?

Has anyone been bold enough to indicate 50 driveway spaces?

The home is on an acre lot flat dirt lot with no garage?

How many cars can you fit on an acre?

My interpretation, fwiw, is how many cars can be parked in the drive, period, not how many cars can be conveniently parked in the drive.

One lane wide, 3 cars deep? 3 car parking in driveway, plus whatever will fit in the garage.

20' wide, 35-40' deep, 4 cars.

I don't agree that a 10' x 20' drive in front of a one-car garage is '0' driveway parking. Its 1 car garage storage, 1 car driveway storage.

In the pre-UAD days I entered "Multiple" or "Multi." Or sometimes took a guess, say at least 6 cars, and put "6+."

My neighbors don't park in the driveway, they park in the front yard. City folks.

When you park in the front yard it feels like your car is in a TV commercial.

In my town you can't do that

There is a law, you can't park on your front yard if it's grass... it has to be an approved driveway. If you resurface your driveway you have to get a permit.

Was taught to go by the width of the apron, but that doesn't really work here. It's either 1 for a small driveway, or 2 for everything else.

Actually... they want both. It's important. Really, really important
Things have changed since FHA told us to fill in one or the other...but that was 15 yr ago.

it would be kind of silly to have a driveway that fits 0 cars.
kinda my thought... So where do you "store" your car? In the garage? in front of it because of all the crap inside?

I love parking on the grass... My driveway is grass and gravel. And my pet mockingbird likes to build his nest inside an old roof Ventilator Turbine. City folks and their silly rules.

The number of cars that can be parked = # of cinderblocks in view/4 - yard or driveway.

The garage is for boat, golf cart and Gator storage.

Sheesh! How can something so simple be made so complicated?

The garage is for meth/shine production. Certainly you can't go stinking up the house, and you can't do it in the driveway for obvious reasons.:rof:
