Never thought about this before, but desperate times call for desperate measures......

Anyway...... I would like to give some clients a token of appreciation, my goal is for them to remember me for the rest of the year, anybody have some gift ideas, to be within a budget and stay within their minds for at least the next year.............

I was thinking of emailing a $100 Amazon gift certificate, what do you guys think of this one?

If you want them to remember, don't give at Christmas....it'll only get lost with all the others. Wait until New Year's and send them the "Wishing you a prosperous new year" or "here's to another year of working together" or something else appropriate. Your gift certificate is fine. If you are going to hand deliver it, maybe you can combine it with some custom M&M's with your company name and phone number on them.

For custom printed M&M or Dove candies:

Janies Cakes. These are really good. I recommend the Italian Jane! Any Texan's want back me on this one? Mmmmmm.

Gifts and USPAP

What a great thread! I was just thinking of this same thing. However, I just finished a USPAP class. I'm feeling slightly paranoid about what is o.k. to give and not have to disclose in next years addendum's.

The food idea seems safe but there is a lot of that around the holidays. I was thinking some educational thing; some marketing thing; some further their career thing. If their career's further wouldn't mine? Not that my gift is in any way intended to have them give me their future business...:new_smile-l:

pizza is a no fail gift. make sure that you deliver it though.

free comp checks(verbal appraisal report)!

I used to go to one of the cookie stores and order those huge, like 3 foot round chocolate chip cookies with my logo in icing on them and deliver them to clients.

Coupon good for one December appraisal - Fee $250.

Go to each lender loan office in your town and give them only ONE(1).

Basically your asking for a bone!

When giving tokens of appreciation, keep in mind, if it has your name on it - it is marketing. If it does not it is a gift. If it is a gift it MAY violate USPAP and/or state laws. ALSO - a gift - only $25 per gift per client per year may be written off. Marketing - all cost may be written off.
Judy is right- Christmas season- it will likely get forgotten. Try: New Year;Spring;Summer;Fall;Halloween;Thanksgiving(my fave) or any other obscure holiday and tie it in. i.e. Spring: "New orders are blossoming and we thank you!!" Send an office plant.

A leatherbound copy of USPAP with your companies name and logo on front.
