That aught to scare the hell out of them....Danny! LOL.

What was that line from Major League..."that aught to tighten their little sphincters!".

Thanks for the link and insight to the course- from a quick review of the content it looks like a totally different approach to what I was expecting to encounter. While an understanding and grasp of practical USPAP will be helpful the focus, as was referred to earlier, is the title of the link and "Concepts "appear to be the main thrust of the course so hopefully becoming familiar with the 2006 version will be good preparation for the 2008 version which will arrive in our mailboxes sometime soon. Just got to be vigilant of any changes that have taken place in the updated version.

The approach is different, and it does surprise some (most) students. The point is NOT to to see how well one can memorize USPAP. The point is to understand the concepts that drive the appraisal process - things like why it is critical to identify the intended use, and why credibility is measured in the contect of the intended use.

USPAP changes for 2008 were relatively minor, so reading the 2006 version of the book should cause no great confusion.

No worries, he couldn't scare me anymore about this test then I was already doing to myself.

There's no reason to be scared. Danny just explained that the high failure rate is due to the fact that most people go into it not realizing that the focus is on concepts and principles, not applications. That and the "best out of 4 right answers" test. I swear, there really are a lot of questions where all 4 of the choices are right to some degree.

True.

My advice: Don't "over-think" the question...that is, don't read into the question that what is not there.

There is no over-estimating that one has to know the material to successfully complete the exam.

I was very fortunate to have "our own" Mr. Wiley (and, Carla Glass) as the two instructors for the course when I was a student a few years ago.

For those taking the course the TAF just posted the 2008 manual on the website.
