Golf course data?

I took on a prospective subdivision appraisal assignment this week (Sonora, CA) and found an operating golf course already there. About 40,000 rounds are played per year there, but I don't know where to find good golf course sales data, data that includes rounds played and income and expenses. Any suggestions?

I think the National Golf Foudation www.ngf.org offers a business membership for an annual fee of $350. I used their reports for golf course appraisals when I did them in the past.

Vernon, nothing pertinent to fax I guess. Don't think info from Iowa and Illinois small golf courses would help. The website is www.golfcourse.com. It gives you almost every golf course in an area, it tells you greens fees for weekday and weekend, rounds played per year, course ratings and slopes. We really looked at the rounds played per year.

I found that some of the information was older, but had no trouble getting the club managers to update the information for me.

Sales were hard to figure out because of the massive amount of personal property claimed in the sale prices.

Well, I would contact other CG in and around your area to see if any have done any golf courses in the past. The National Golf Foundation is a very good source for information. I've been a member for over five years and they are very helpful with tons of information.
