I complete many FHA's without a case#. All Hope appraisals though. Today you have to have a case# before inspecting the property for refi/purchase. It was that way for about 6 months, then they changed it, then they changed it back. Thanks Greg for the link. I wonder if FHA can change the information on the link to keep up with the changing requirements. Ya'll remember the 2005 morgagee letter informing us that there would be a new handbook?? I guess that would be too easy. We need to search through piles and piles of old handbooks, morgagee letters and FAQ to figure out what to do!

Try reading the Revided Appendix D which is referenced in ML- 2005-48.

Read it plenty of times. Quoted it alot too. Still waiting for the replaced handbook 4150.2
