Greenspan's recent comments about
FannieMae:

Apparently Alan has noticed that FannieMae and friends are
using the "full faith and credit of the U.S. Treasury" to suck out too much
money from capital markets. Maybe Greenspan will do for
the mortgage market what he did for the stock market with
its "irrational exuberance."

About two years ago, I was listening to Greenspan lecture the congress about the national economy. He made this statement: “One of the biggest problems out there is that there is two much wealth in private hands at the present time.” I immediately liquidated all of my equity stocks, and just in a nick of time. Hint, hint, hint! For those of you from South Florida, that means mortgages rates are going up-up-up and FNMA is the next bubble about to bust. Or be punctured by the gods that be.

Maybe a little too aggressive on the part of their Public Manipulation Dept.:

Anyone happen to see the first few Norman Rockwell / Bob Timberlake - like TV commercials so reminecient of Mom's Apple Pie Cooling on the Fireplace Hearth etc., etc. -- that were so abrutly jerked off the air earlier this year?

Check your VCR tapes for an example of this aborted, high dollar, just-a-bit-too-slick-for-comfort national PR campaign stumble.

Tom & Dave: I know Tom goes back to court tomorrow, so I hope tomorrow night one of you guys will use this thread to fill us in on the days activity. This board is better than court TV. Wonder if we can rent Greta Van Sustren? Those new eyes of her's are killers. Seriously, don't keep us in suspence!
