My MLS: First, you have to become a Realtor (I'm not a salesperson or broker, let's not venture into the definition of 'Realtor' because talking about it's dumb, dead horse discussion). Next, you either join up with a Designated Realtor or become one to gain MLS access.
Designated Realtor is $4,600 one time fee with annual dues of $900. Broker, solo appraiser, appraiser (DR) with staff (R, each paying annual fees).
A Realtor member, under (working for) a Designated Realtor is $900 a year with no 'initiation' fees.
Thank you all for your comments.
Well HAR told me they don't have an appraiser membership, you are consider a broker !!!!! so as an appraiser you pay the same as a broker !! crazy. I guess it is the same pretty much everywhere (except CA, that's a first something in CA that is cheaper !!!)
Do you have your salesperson license? If not, you might want to consider getting it. It won't save you a lot by the time you pay the state too but it is a little bit cheaper I think. Although I am a broker, I found it cheaper to pay another broker to sponsor me so I get the MLS for $64 a quarter plus the annual HAR membership. I think I pay about $200 a year to the broker. I am mainly an appraiser but in the last century I mainly did sales.
