Harder for me to walk

I'd been taking 5 mile walking trails two times a week over past couple years.
I figure if I keep walking, I keep my endurance and strength up but for past several weeks I noticed it's getting more tiring at the end of the trail and my wife is at least 500 feet ahead of me.
For the older guys on AF, is it going to be that way? I won't be able to walk long distance as I get older? :(

I wouldn't know. Ask Dublin.

If I recall correctly, Dublin plays softball still. Fernando, can you catch a ball with a mitt if someone throws a ball really hard at you?

I don't surf that often anymore being in my mid-60s.... Father Time catches up with everybody.

Getting ready to sign up. All age league and I am an infielder and still slide and dive for the ball. Legs aren't quite they used to be but I can still run the bases and have a good reaction time. The general consensus in the league is I am crazy for playing that way at my age. I will stop when I can't

Good for you. Sounds like good exercise.

Before I try to aim for 10,000 steps. I think 7,000 steps should be sufficient.
Wait a second, you said you were doing 5-mile trail hikes. 10,000 steps is four to five miles.

You sound like a politician.

If you have a joint issue, over-exercising will damage the joint. One of my trainees used to walk with his wife every night and his knee pain got unbearable. He tried doubling down and got to the point he could barely get back home. So, they decided to do a knee replacement and it took months to get to where he could walk any distance. The doctor warned him not to overdue it. Pain is not gain when it is joint pain. That's not your muscles talking, it's your cartilage or lack thereof.
