Back in the Great Recession when I was doing so many appraisal reports, I used mainly an atom laptop which was tiny and I could carry it with me anywhere. Normal laptops were too big and heavy.
I believed typing and hunching contributed to my back issues. I'm recovering slowly.

Mine is an HP pavillion. It is relatively cheap. Like a 15 inch screen . 477 GB storage. 128MB graphics card. 12GB RAM 1.00GHZ CPU. It is fast. I have had it a while. I am sure you can get more for your money now. If you do windows based instead of apple, yours will probably come with windows 11 pre-installed. You can take your existing computer where you get it if you want to and they will transfer your programs onto the laptop if you want to. You can probably do it yourself also.

I am sure apple makes a good one too.

I like the large screen size on mine personally. You can look at different screen sizes and see what you like. Yours will probably be touch screen. Mine is. That is nice feature. You have your little mouse touch pad or you can hook up an external mouse if you like. The touch screen is nice.

On a 15 inch screen, you can stream a movie if you like. I am used to streaming on my Iphone 14 pro. My iphone is no where close to 15 inch screen. LOL

I can remember having like a 12-13 inch screen on a regular TV.

You will probably spend more money on an apple vs windows based.

I have no idea how much you want to spend.

I don't trust websites much. But here is one of many websites. I noticed Amazon was in the ad:

If you buy it new, you will probably have free tech support for a time.

When I buy tools, don't cheap out. Buy the right one. My machines last 7 years on average.

For a laptop, keyboard and touchpad quality matters and most PC ones are garbage with some exceptions.

I bought an Asus ProArt from Best Buy. I love it.

You're a smart techie guy.
I have my desktop for over 15 years. Speed slows me down in posting. Maybe time to replace a new one.
Is it hard to transfer data from my hard drive to new computer?

Shouldn't be. 15 years is pretty old. For desktops I liked the refurbished cubical farm Dells that you can get on eBay for a song.

you don't get free tech support with that. I guess you might could add a tech support warranty on it.
