Hello all,

I am a trainee appraiser from Huntsville, AL. I found this forum when I was trying to figure out what "S-Det./End Unit" meant. Hopefully I will be certified within the next month or so.

So Far this forum has been extremely helpful.

Welcome to the forum.

Did you find your answer?

It looks like you are referring to the third line of the General Description portion of the Improvements Section on the 1004 form. The first part of that is the ambiguous Semi-Detached and the End Unit part is the more descriptive. Basically it is saying the subject is an attached unit but on only one side.

Huntsville. I love that town. Whenever I hear that word I think of Jimmy "Smut" Means, one of the true good ole boys of NASCAR before the lip gloss, ear ring, limp wristed Jeff Gordon types ruined the sport. Welcome.

Yes. I did figure it out thanks to the forum. It seems rather redundant to call it both. I think everyone knows what an "end unit" is, and to add anything to that would only cause confusion, in my opinion.

I love Huntsville, as well. But to be completely honest, I have never heard of Jimmy "Smut" Means, and don't really follow NASCAR at all.

I appreciate all of the responses. Everyone seems so nice and willing to help, so far. This appears to be a great tool for any appraiser.

Exactly. Keep in mind that this is a government form. Logic and government...well I'd have to start quoting the late George Carlin to express my thoughts on that.

When I have one of those I check the Attached box as well as the End Unit box. I figure there is less chance for the reader to misunderstand.
