There are not many recent posts. You must all be very busy. Are you keeping up with the current affairs in Washington? Seems they are wanting a appraiser bond now which will cost about 2 to 4 thousand.Wander how many can afford that.License renewal is coming 06/30/2008.Wander how many appraisers are renewing.the AMC copanies must be looking forward to a great increase in business as they will proably benifit from the propsed changes. There are a lot of changes coming, some good some not so good but there are going to be fewer appraisers. Are you going to be appraising 1 yr from now?Lets hear from you and your thoughts on the events coming up.

Howdy Ken,

You're right, the Indiana forum doesn't have much activity. I think that is because most everything is discussed in the main forums.

My work has been steady enough to survive, but the retirement funds are not increasing.

I do plan to be appraising a year and more from now. I'm of the opinion that in the near future there will be greater demand for well prepared, credible appraisals.

I'm not in favor of the bond issue and I think you have the amount a bit low. There are threads in the main forums suggesting 40-50k for the typical appraiser.

The Indiana forum might not have too much volume, but I can tell you that you have two very good teachers for the AI. They teach classes in Indianapolis and Louisville. I have taken two classes from them and they are very good.

And at least one of those has written some very good books which are available from AI (Appraisal Institute).
