Certified Residential Appraiser
Im looking for som help at helping people. In addition to being a real estate appraiser, I am also engaged in a certification process as a personal coach from the Franklin Covey Coaching division of Franklin Covey Time Mangement.

I intend to create a coaching practice targeted to real estate appraisers to help appraisers bring the best out of themselves in their personal and professional lives For the purpose of balancing their professional life with their personal life and getting the most out of both.

Right now, though, I'm still going through the cert. process and I need some volunteers who want to recieve free coaching for a short term coaching relationship. This is a service that many professionals pay anywhere from 400-1000 per month for when working with a certified coach. and when working with a good coach, beleive me, its worth every penny! Its becoming a very popular way for professionals to increase their performance capablities in the efforts of looking for more financial and personal reward from their livliehoods or from their personal life.

I'm offering it for free for a 6 session commitment for a maximum of 3 people.

My skills & experience at this time include completion of a two day training program in Salt Lake City as well as six months of receiving coaching from a certified coaching professional. I also work with a coaching company called LIfetrek international and have had several buddy coach relationships with other coaches. I need to gear my coaching away from coaching other coaches, though, and find some clients who simply want to raise the bar on what the expect from themselves. If you struggle with any issues of not living up to the standards you would like to set for yourself then coaching is definately for you. If you are intrigued by this concept then send me an email or give me a call. I can be reached by calling 847/489-5132 or by email at LonnyHogan@aol.com. This really is a great opportunity for anyone who understands the value of personal coaching. I need to cut off the offer though after I get three committed volunteers so call soon if your interested or if your just intrigued enough to get more information.

Lonny:

It would be very helpful if you explained what area of the country you were in...

so you took a couple classes in SLC... are you LOCATED in Utah?

Salt Lake? Will this be offered during the winter months? Throw in left tickets, ski rentals and few drink favors at some local watering holes and I'll shut down the ranch for a week.

I'm a firm believer in self-motivation, will a person need your services for the rest of his/her life? is there graduation? or are you like a chiropractor and will always be doing "adjustments"?

Lee Ann,

I am not located in Utah. I reside and work in the Chicago metro area. I only went to Utah for a short time for some training in this discipline. Location, itself, is irrelevant when it comes to coaching practices. In this technology age, computer and telephone are all you need. Most coaches meet with clients in 1/2 hour to 40 minute phone conversations. I know several coaches with clients in other countries and from cities all over this country. During the six months of my own coaching. I lived here in Chicago while I was getting my coaching from Salt Lake City. If your looking for more information on how coaching relationships actually work then try visiting www.coachville.com www.Lifetrekcoaching.com or www.FranklinCovey.org then go to keyword coaching.

TC.

Thats good that you are a believer in self motivation. Coaching is based upon a founding principle that true motivation comes from within oneself. A coach would not help you by putting motivation in you, but instead by taking the untapped motivation, drive, and talent that you have yet to realize and pull it out of you. As for the the lengh of the relationship, that is totally up to the client. You decide when the relationship has reached its potential and when its time to move on. You do it for as long as its working for you and for as long as its producing the results you expect. For more information see the websites indicated in the posting above.

In my market I have found that comps are needed too. To quote the Music Man "you gotta know the territory".

I agree Keith,

I've met many appraisers with an ego that held them back more than they've realized. I've already received some interest and positive feedback, though, so the the God complex must not be universal.

The question to ask is "Am I getting everything out of myself that I expect out of myself?"

If the answer is yes, than the God Complex may be justifiable.

For most of us, however, the answer is no.

If the answer is no then there is a reason. Any appraiser or person, for that matter, should find the answer to that whether they seek the aid from coaching or from another source.

Living up to the standards we set for ourselves is a key ingrediant to living a high quality of life.
