I am an appraiser in New Jersey. However, my daughter has lived in Hampton, VA for about three years. After her husband retired from Navy they purchased a three bedroom 2.5 bath colonial in Nelson Farms section. Slab/block, supposed to have been built circa 1993+/-. I would like to know who was the developer if anybody remembers. While they were digging to install footing for new porch they discovered sub-standard block that is decaying rapidly, estimates range from 6,500-9,000 for repair. Also, if anybody knows of a good attorney for a case like this any info. will be helpful. We are going to be down there on Thanksgiving but I'm sure city hall will be closed on friday or I would try to get info myself. John Mancine 908-370-8728

Assessor's office 757-727-8311 - Sweet talk someone into researching your daughter's property card.

Planning office 757-727-6140 - I'm sure they have a file that will have some leads and who built the house.

I pulled at random several property addresses just to see if there was a plat book posted. They all had Plat Book 10, Page 34 in common. You may find the developers name on the plat.

4 city planning contacts WITH PHONE NUMBERS per Neighborhood/District including Code Compliance Officers - identify which district the subdivision is located in ...........one would think at least 1 of the 4 reps would be able to provide the name of the builder(s). At this point in your investigation, suggest you NOT to indicate why you seek the info. There MAY have been complaints filed with the City ............and politicians who approved the subdivision may have already "circled the wagons". As "loose lips sink ships", I suggest enabling an Attorney to inquire instead.
